• The case gives you information about both Walmart's external and internal environments.
• Use at least one strategic analysis tool to analyze Walmart's external environment.
• For the internal environment, especially to discuss resources, you need to use the VRIO framework.
Consider the following questions:
• What are Walmart's most critical competitive advantages?
• How did Walmart develop their advantages?
• How sustainable are Walmart's advantages? What is your assessment of Walmart's competitors and their ability to imitate Walmart's advantages?
• What are Walmart's strategic options? To what extent do these options exploit Walmart's competitive advantages?
