Analyze two different magazine or newspaper ads. The first one should be from a newspaper or magazine you normally read and the second one from a newspaper or magazine you don't normally read. If you don't have access to any newspapers or magazines the Meramec library and public libraries have plenty. You can also look up magazines online if possible.

1. List title, month and year of each magazine/newspaper

2. What is the product/business/service?

3. Who is the target market for the product/business/service? List demographics and psychographics.

4. is there a psychological need addressed by the ad or are they merely selling the product.

5. What claims and appeals are they using? (From section 2 notes)

6. How are colors used in the ad?

7. Are there any subliminal or underlying messages in the ad?

8. Do you think the ad is successful why or why not? If you were in the target market would you buy the product?

9. Would you change the ad....if yes, how would you change it?
