Do schools teach us critical thinking? learned from this lecture, there are only two critical thinking questions which revolve around synthesis and evaluation. Synthesis requires one to use the information learned and apply it to a different scenario where as evaluation requires one to analyze the value of the information learned. From experience, I feel that, more often than not, our school systems do not properly teach students to use this forms of thinking, rather one is left to figure it out on their own. Rather schools teach reiteration of the information using knowledge, comprehension, and application material. The main problem with this situation is that students never learn how to properly critically think. The consequences of this can be found when students are pushed into the real world. Students aren't able to apply their knowledge to real world problems. Although they have the ability to properly comprehend the situation, they don't adequately know how to apply that comprehension to solve a problem or generate work.
