Assignment:

You are working as a Health Educator in the Community Health Bureau at the Long Beach Health Department. Your team is preparing new educational materials and curriculum for a community they have not worked with before. To help prepare, your manager has asked you to give a presentation on this community to your coworkers. In this presentation you will analyze the community, and note higher rates of substance use such as smoking habits, alcohol consumption, or other drug use habits.

You will analyze the risk factors for substance use disorder or other form of addiction in your selected community. You will also analyze the most prevalent health issues and illnesses in this community. Formulate preliminary thoughts on possible connections between substance use disorder/addictive behavior and health issue/illness. You will suggest a possible solution to this problem from a public health perspective as primary and secondary prevention that will assist your team.

After conducting your research, you will need to provide a brief presentation based on the findings from your paper. Using the information from your paper, provide key highlights, statistics and other important information.
