Via the link after this assignment, refer to "Table 1-3 Key Variables in Leadership Theory" on page 12 in Ch. 1 of Leadership in Organizations. The table illustrates variables for each category of leadership theory: characteristics of the leader, characteristics of the followers, and characteristics of the situation. Consider the variables from each category as it relates to leadership effectiveness.
Write a 1,225 to 1,400 words plan for cross-functional leadership, explaining how you would apply these theories to the leadership of a cross-functional team to improve customer service. In your plan:
Question 1. Explain the team's objective. Consider what it means to improve customer service using relevant key performance indicators.
Question 2. Analyze yourself as a leader. Consider strengths and opportunities in terms of leadership effectiveness.
Question 3. Analyze the group as followers. Consider strengths and opportunities in terms of the variables provided for each category.
Question 4. Analyze the situation. Consider ways organizational culture has contributed to the current state of customer service.
Question 5. Recommend strategies for achieving organizational excellence through applied leadership.
