Aims of project

In fulfillment of course objective 2, each group should develop, through research and analysis, the ability to analyze the financial statements by applying data analytics and evaluate the financial performance of a company. This will enhance the financial analysis skills of the students while they are working in small collaborative group. In addition, to explore the significant role the financial management plays in the corporation.

Tasks

- Each group is be given a name of one company, which has to be different from one group to another.
- Each group has to introduce the selected company: industry, number of employees, international presence, and collect its balance sheet and its income statement of 2015, 2016 and 2017.
- Each group has to analyze the company's performance in related to short term solvency or liquidity ratios, long term solvency ratios, asset management ratios, profitability ratios and market value measures.
- After consultation with the Instructor, each group has to make a comparison between the selected company and another company from the same industry. This comparison covered only the Profitability Ratios.
- The conclusion of the project must include a financial advice to investor to whether he/she should invest in this company or not, and why?

AS a financial adviser you are expected to give an advice to someone regarding specific company given whether to invest or not after within the report and the give our conclusion and recommendations

The main company RAK Properties and to be compared with RAK Ceramic

Both Hard and soft copies to be submitted. Late penalties will apply for failure to submit by due date. The submission of the project should be at the beginning of the class on the due date. Penalties start applying 15 minutes from beginning of class (10% a day) The duration of the presentation must not exceed 15 minutes. No makeup presentation will be allowed. Groups will be called for presentation at RANDOM.

Marking both the project and the presentation will be based on the ‘Written and Oral Rubrics’ uploaded on the Blackboard. Form groups of minimum of 3, maximum of 5 students. Individual project is not be accepted. Write a project using diversified sources of information (business and finance magazines, the web, etc.)
