Expectations for data quality and data usage increase. The hospital wants to increase Medicare reimbursement levels by participating in the Meaningful Use program. Past experiences with data reporting have not been pleasant, as reports contained a high level of error. One of the hospitals had a mishap with electronic data transfers, resulting in a breach of prescription data that was sent to several pharmacies.
