Question - The role of corporate governance and management is crucial in creating an ethical work environment. This role serves as an example to everyone within the company. This concept is referred to as the tone at the top. If top leaders display ethical behaviors, then a norm is established for what is acceptable and what is unacceptable. For example, if a grocery store manager consistently takes items, such as paper towels or candy, for personal use without paying, then the cashiers will see this as acceptable behavior and will do the same.
