You are required to prepare one case analysis for the midterm exam and one for the final exam. Together, the Case Analyses for Exams are worth 60 points of your course grade.
- Read the assigned article and watch the supporting videos.
- Prepare the four Tasks detailed below.
- Your exam will require you to write two essays based on two of the three Tasks.
- Your essays will be graded on accuracy and completeness.

TASKS For your Final
Task 1. Analyze and Apply Ethical Approaches.
In your text, Figure 5.5 Four Methods of Ethical Reasoning identifies four (4) of ethical reasoning: Virtues, Utilitarian, Rights, and Justice.
To prepare for the final exam, you should study the case, and to the extent possible given the information in the reading and video materials, be able to apply these approaches to evaluate key stakeholder groups.
You should be prepared to answer essay questions such as:
- Analyze whether or not key stakeholders (e.g., government regulators) were ethical if you apply the Virtues method of reasoning. Provide examples.
- Analyze whether or not key stakeholders (e.g., developers) were ethical if you apply the Utilitarian method of reasoning. Provide examples.
- Analyze whether or not key stakeholders were ethical if you apply the Justice method of reasoning. Provide examples.
- Analyze whether or not key stakeholders were ethical if you apply the Rights method of reasoning. Provide examples.
Task 2. Analyze the Citizenship of Key Stakeholder Groups
In your text, Figure 3.5 The Stages of Global and Corporate Citizenship identifies seven (7) dimensions of citizenship: Citizenship Content, Strategic Intent, Leadership, Structure, Issues Management, Stakeholder Relationships and Transparency, and five (5) stages from the lowest levels of citizenship, Stage 1: Elementary to the highest level of citizenship, Stage 5: Transforming.
To prepare for the final exam, you should study the case, and to the extent possible given the information in the reading and video materials, be prepared to discuss each of the dimensions of citizenship and assess the stage or stages demonstrated by key stakeholders.
You should be prepared to answer essay questions such as:
- Discuss the Citizenship Content dimension and assess the stage(s) demonstrated by a key stakeholder (e.g. developers), and give at least three examples.
- Discuss the Strategic Intent dimension and assess the stage(s) demonstrated by a key stakeholder, and give at least three examples.
- Discuss the Leadership dimension and assess the stage(s) demonstrated by a key stakeholder, and give examples.
- Discuss the Issues Management and assess the stage(s) demonstrated by a key stakeholder, and give at least three examples.
- Discuss the Stakeholder Relationships and assess the stage(s) demonstrated by a key stakeholder, and give at least three examples.
- Assess the overall Global Corporate Citizenship at the beginning of the case using one example from at least three dimensions to support your assessment.
- Assess how overall Global Corporate Citizenship of a key stakeholder evolved during the case using at least three examples of how one dimension evolved during the case to support your assessment.
Task 3. Analyze Moral Development of Ethical Reasoning
In your text, Figure 5.4 Stages of Moral Development and Ethical Reasoning identifies six (6) stages from the lowest levels of ego-centered reasoning to the highest levels of principle-centered reasoning.
To prepare for the final exam, you should study the case, and to the extent possible given the information in the reading and video materials, discuss the ethical reasoning and moral development of key stakeholder groups.
- Discuss the moral development of one key stakeholder group; be sure to state the stage of their development and the basis of their ethical reasoning. Give examples.
- Discuss key stakeholders who exhibited ego-centered reasoning. Give examples.
- Discuss key stakeholders who demonstrated group-centered reasoning. Give examples.
- Discuss key stakeholders who demonstrated society- and law-centered reasoning and give examples.
- Discuss key stakeholders who demonstrated more than one stage of development (e.g., Stages 1 and 2, or Stages 2 and Stage 3, etc.). Give examples.
