Case Study Question: Ethical Dilemmas in Cybersecurity
Read the Case Study (Wade and Shackelford, 2021), and then proceed as per the instructions given below to prepare your report.
Instruction:
Identify the main ethical issue(s) involved in the above case study. Undertake further research into the ethical issue(s) involved to assist you in analyzing and discussing it in your report.
Analyze the actions of Joseph Blount, CEO of Colonial Pipeline on the associated ethical issues, from the perspective of your choice of Code of Professional Conduct (ACM, IEEE or ACS).
Analyze the ethical issue(s) by applying the classical ethical theories, including utilitarianism, deontology, contract, and virtue. Your report should present well- reasoned arguments, logically leading to appropriate recommendations.
Make recommendations as to what actions should have been taken by the CEO of Colonial Pipeline to uphold ethical conduct, providing reasons for these recommendations.
Write an overall conclusion that justifies the recommendations you make in your report.
