Assignment:
Analyse impacts of sociological factors on clients in community work and services.
To meet the practical requirements of this unit, the learner must show evidence that they have:
1. Used socio-cultural information to advise, refer, or provide at least 3 clients with access to services
2. Identified and analysed the impact of social and cultural factors on clients
3. Monitored and reviewed the work and services they provided to clients
4. Revised work and services provided to clients to improve client outcomes and provide better service for their social and cultural issues
This can be evidenced by the learner completing the provided questions based on their interactions.
Consistently displayed the ability to meet the requirements outlined in the Supervisor Observation section of this unit
This must be evidenced across the 3 client interactions, with at least 100 hours of work in a community services workplace
For each of these client interactions, the supervisor will need to complete the observation checklist, provide the date of observation and additional notes to support their indicated outcome (examples of relevant notes can be found in the 'Instruction to assessor' section of this document).
During their time on placement, the learner will need access to the following organisational documents and resources:
Appropriate workplace to demonstrate skills
Simulated assessment environments

1. Discuss an instance you were working with a client who was experiencing long-term unemployment and the issues associated with that. What were the impacts and associated issues experienced by the client as an individual and as a family member?
2. With the same client above, discuss what services you provided to them based on the information you collected.
3. With a separate client, detail a time you made an informed decision about the specific treatment/services to be provided to a client.What were the treatments and services, how did you ensure you were making an informed decision, and how did you advisethe client of their treatment options?
4. Explain the review processyou followed to ensure the work and services you were providing were effective for the client,groups, and community and also relevant to the client's identified social and cultural factors. What were three (3) areas of improvement identified through this review?
5. Following on from the above review, how did you address the three (3) areas of improvement identified to enhance outcomes for clients, groups,and communities and ensure their social and cultural needs were met?
