Select a piece of art (music, images, paintings, etc.) appropriate for K-6 children.

Select a wellness activity that either gets students moving or teaches them how to be healthy.

Create an art and wellness lesson that combines both the art and wellness activity you chose.

Choose a piece of art (be creative) that you want to teach students as well as incorporate in a wellness lesson. Include the name, date/era and artist of the art you chose.
Analyze how the artistic elements impact the piece of art.
Explain why you chose this specific piece of art.
Choose a wellness activity that you want to teach students.
Explain how you would incorporate the art you selected in the wellness lesson you want to teach students.

Example 1: To incorporate art and wellness, hang mural paper on all four walls of a gymnasium, and place different colored markers around the room at the base of the wall. Play music, and allow the students to run around. Each time you periodically stop the music, students must run to the wall, pick up a marker, and draw what they feel. Ideally, each time they will run to a different place, and the result will be a large, multicolored, collaborative mural.

Example 2: To incorporate art and wellness that does not involve students getting up and actively moving, you can use images/ and arts and crafts to teach children about healthy eating habits. Children can create their own healthy "My Plate" and learn about the different food groups.
