Instructions

Write a 10-page analysis of a strategic plan and develop recommendations for conducting future strategic planning.

The strategic plan you will evaluate and use as the title of your analysis paper. You will use:

The Gates Family Foundation 2016 Strategic Plan.

In your plan:

I. Study the chosen strategic plan carefully and identify the following components:

1. Any prerequisites.
2. The organizational mission, vision, and values.
3. Indications of a distinction between the roles of leadership and administration or management.
4. Current and anticipated staffing levels, types of skills and experience level, employees hired, et cetera.
5. Evidence and elements of a SWOT analysis.
6. Identified goals.
7. Identified strategies for achieving those goals.
8. Identified strategies for implementing organizational change.

II. Complete the following once you've identified the above components:

1. Analyze how each component is used in the strategic plan.
2. Explain how the plan resemble the content.
3. Explain how the plan differ from the content.

III. Recommend how the plan could be strengthened through the inclusion of any missing elements and/or additional explanation.
