Step One: Visit the following websites: The PEPPER report

The Healthcare Cost and Utilization Project

The CDC Wonder database

Step Two: Create a one page summary describing the data located at the three sites and how that data would be used.

Step Three: Select any one of the above databases and perform a data search on the topic of your choice. The only requirement is that you have multiple points of data. For example: you may have multiple years, or multiple quarters, or multiple locations.

Step Four: Perform a data analysis of the data you have retrieved. Calculate at least the mean, median, mode, and range of your data.

Step Five: Create a one page summary of the data you have collected and analyzed. Provide the data that you have collected in a table.

Explain what data you collected, explain your data analysis, identify any trends in the data, and explain how this data can be used to increase the quality and safety of patient care.
