• Reminder: Biographical information is easily plagiarized. Please do not copy from your biographical websites. Paraphrase or quote and cite everything according to APA guidelines.

B. Analyze the climate of the time period in terms of the political, socioeconomic, environmental, and technological contexts in which this individual worked.

• Tip: Research the barriers and issues of the time. Think about whether this person was up against resistance or if the work this person did was welcomed.

C. Examine this individual's personal beliefs that prompted his or her work.

D. Identify adversities associated with this individual's community and/or public health impacts and examine how the individual overcame and/or confronted these adversities to succeed in his or her task.

E. Describe the final outcome of this individual's contribution to community and/or public health.

• Tip: Think about the contribution's importance to the community or public health at the time. Think about this question: What occurred as a result of this person's action?

F. Explain what the individual's contribution did for overall community and/or public health at the time.

• Tip: Think about this question: What was the purpose for the community or nation?

G. Explain why this contribution was so important at that particular point in history.

• Tip: Think about this question: What made this important for the country?

I. Ebook Central: The library's largest e-book database. Ebooks have academic information that helps provide biographical and background information. This includes background information on the people listed and the health topics and time periods.

II. EBSCOhost and ProQuest: These are two of the library's largest databases that will be useful resources after conducting initial background research.

III. JSTOR: This is an archival database with scholarly articles. The articles will not be very recent; some may range from quite old to just a few years old. This database will be helpful when analyzing the historical and social perspectives of each topic.
