Question: Analyze an issue currently impacting Black Americans that has its roots in the institution of slavery in the United States. You may use any relevant course materials, including any episode of the #1619 podcast, for support in finding an issue.

The goal of the assignment is to take a deeper, analytical dive into an issue that has impacted Black people living in the United States. Please choose an issue that is relevant to today and has existed throughout the time that Black people have been in the United States (unfortunately, that should not be difficult).

Please use as many sources from the course as you can to support your analysis. You are also allowed to use outside sources, but it is not required. All sources must be cited.
