Critically analyze an "interracial buddy film" in terms of the concepts from Vera and Gordon's "Black and White Buddies I" and "Black and White Buddies II" (linked to week 7).

Obviously you can't analyze one of the films they analyze in detail from the article (48 Hours, Trading Places, Lethal Weapon, Shawshank Redemption, etc) or the film discussed at length in the lecture: The Defiant Ones.

But there are a million others out there and we've all seen at least one. You could write about Beverly Hills Cop, with the white buddies being both Rosewood and Taggart (or just Rosewood).  You could also consider another film: Running Scared, 2Guns, The Last Boy Scout, etc.  If you took my suggestion to seek out another film to watch on your own, likely that is a good choice.

You MUST incorporate at least 4 and no more than 5 concepts from these chapters in analyzing your film.

Your analysis should include well-supported arguments about how both race AND gender are represented in the film.

You may write about how the movie perpetuates the conventions outlined by Vera and Gordon; how it subverts those conventions; or how it does both simultaneously.
