Assignment: Analyzing data is an important first step. However, the real impact on student achievement comes when teachers create an action plan and then use it to guide instruction, collect ongoing formative data, and adjust to meet the needs of students.
Strong action plans address four key questions:
1. What skill or content will I teach?
2. How will I teach it?
3. When will I teach it?
4. What evidence will I collect to know if my students are learning the skill or content?
Candidates will review and analyze a school district's data inquiry model that is used to analyze, synthesize and interpret student data to guide instructional practices to enhance student performance. Candidates will examine the following but are not limited to:
1. Theoretical framework of the model
2. Purpose and Mission of the process
3. Training component for relevant personnel
4. The degree of involvement and collaboration of stakeholders
5. The Process of Implementation
Candidates' analysis should include the following:
1. An Overview (no more than two full constructed paragraphs)
2. 3 - 4 page body narrative
3. Summary of recommendations
