Description:
Reflective Log of up to 2000 words.
You are required to complete a reflective log in response to weekly questions.
Your response will be written in academic style including citations (APA Version 7) to relevant literature. This literature will include - but not be confined to - the set text and papers provided for the course.
Assessment Task - Scaffolding
You are asked to write a Reflective Log in response to a series of 3 questions posed during the first modules. These questions are posted on our course Discussion Board. You are strongly encouraged to use the Discussion Board to practise expressing your ideas using the language of curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment.
The Reflective Log should total around 2000 words (i.e. about 500 words per question, plus an introduction that ties together your reflections into a coherent whole). Write the introduction last as it should draw on your answers to the 3 questions.
In the Reflective Log, you are expected to write a carefully edited, original, well-structured and scholarly response to the questions posed during the course. The standard of writing (at Masters' level) should be close to a publishable standard with careful and accurate referencing, using APA 7th style.
The following questions are guidelines and suggestions (see it as possible examples). References should include, but not be limited to, the readings provided for this course. A minimum of 10 references is recommended, but it is important to demonstrate your critical engagement with the theoretical literature to support your reflections.
Introduction (-400 words) As a brief introduction to your response explain your understanding of curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment, and the principle of alignment.
• What are the null and hidden aspects of the curriculum that you have experienced in primary and high school? Describe the effect these had on your own educational experience. (-500 words)
• What do you understand is the role of the teacher in your own context: a traditional or progressive one? Provide explanations for this. (-500 words)
• Who do you think are the current key stakeholders of the fAustraliani curriculum? Whose interests do they serve? (-500 words) * Or your own country.
Conclusion (-100 words) A few sentences to conclude your discussion, possibly touching on what you have learned from reflecting on your experiences and applying your knowledge of curriculum, pedagogy, and assessment
