Assignment:

See my question in bold at the bottom but for context this is our instructions:

You are a team of financial analysts which has been hired by a team of risk-averse investors with limited knowledge (i.e. your "target audience") to prepare a business report.

You will specifically need to address the following topics in drawing your conclusions:

1. Macroeconomic factors

2. Industry analysis and business strategy

3. Governance and ethics

4. Accounting analysis

5. Ratio analysis

6. Fundamental analysis and valuation of the target company

7. Technical analysis of the target company

8. An evaluation of the solvency of the company and the implications of your results in 1 to 7 above.

IN RELATION TO question 4, the accounting analysis of Wesfarmers, what does this entail? I understand the steps about looking into unusual transactions, the audit report, disclosure quality although I am unsure if I should be focussing on the aspect or should be focussing on making adjustments and standardised financials? I am a bit unsure of the purpose of the accounting analysis and how to approach the question as we have limited words (250) thanks for your help!
