Assessment 1: Critique of Business Strategy (2000 words) Students are required to source a Business Strategy document (e.g. a corporate Strategic Plan, i.e. annual reports) and to critique this plan with respect to:

a) A description of the business,including its purpose and strategy;
b) An analysis of relevant trends associated with the industry in which the business is located;
c) An analysis of the business market and the competition;
d) A description of how the business intends to address its major strengths, weaknesses, threats, and opportunities; and relevant theory and research regarding issues raised in the Strategy document.

Assessment 2: Analysis of Business Policy (1000 words) Students are required to select a range of policies from a business and evaluate the policies according to:

a) Content: Does policy content clearly articulate the rationale, goals and implementation strategies for various policies?

b) Implementation: Have policies been implemented as intended? What barriers to, and facilitators of, implementation have been identified?

c) Impact: Have policies produced their intended outcomes and impact? How do you know (i.e., refer to specific evidence where possible)?

d) Students should also frame some recommendations for future policy development that may be required by the business.
