Question

In an analysis of the program curriculum, particularly the Issues in Nursing Practice course, a module on self-care was not found. The identified curriculum gap is potentially correlated to the current crisis nurses face due to the lack of self-care and resilience training and an increase in burnout rates directly related to the Covid-19 pandemic. This gap will be addressed by adding a self-care module that will focus on burnout, self-care and resilience including mindful meditation. The theoretical framework used for support of this curriculum change is Lewin's change theory. The purpose of this proposal is to recommend a change in the current curriculum and is presented using the ADDIE model for Instructional Design curriculum framework, a literature review, analysis, design, development, implementation, and evaluation phase that will be discussed in detail as related specifically to this proposal.
