Analysis of London's "To Build a Fire" V Step Two: Once you choose an article, read it and make notes. Here is what I am looking for:
• Introduce the essay's author, the title of the article, the essay's primary argument, and your overall impression of it.
• Summarize the essay you chose-what does the essay/article argue or explain (its thesis)? What are the main supporting points and the conclusion?
• How valid is the argument or explanation? Is it easy to understand? Why or why not?
• How has it broadened your perspective on the topic? If it hasn't, why not? Did it confirm class discussions on the topic, or add new insight?
• Did you agree or disagree with its insight and why? How could you use it in research, if you had to?
• A conclusion that takes a side on why others should or should not explore this essay and why/why not?
• Internal citations and a Works Cited page in *To add additional insight, feel free to further cite from primary texts relevant to the article to back up an interpretation or offer a rebuttal.
