Team Project - Research and Analysis
Topic - IS BRIBERY EVER JUSTIFIED?
Many ethical questions support more than one possible answer, and very rarely is the answer either a simple "yes" or "no." The purpose of this project is to encourage an examination of some of the larger ethical issues facing business today, and, by looking at these issues from differing perspectives, determine what the most ethically sound course of action is.
Working in teams or 2 or 3, as designated by the instructor, a written analysis of controversial issues and business practices will be prepared. The report should be structured as follows:
1. An introductory section describing the ethical issue involved in the question and providing information as to the scope or frequency of the problem where appropriate. If the general topic is to be narrowed down, this section provides the appropriate place in which to do so. Similarly, if the terms require definition, this should be done in the introductory section.
2. A section supporting the proposition. This section should contain the facts and information that you will use to argue your position. While some analysis using the ethical frameworks discussed in the course is possible in this section, the majority of the section should deal with arguments, facts and information pulled from reputable sources.
3. A section opposing the proposition. The same comments apply as in 2 above.
4. A concluding section in which the team comes to a conclusion as to which of the arguments (i.e. for or against the proposition) is most ethically sound. Use of the ethical frameworks discussed in the course is appropriate in this section.
