You note that the infant is at the 5th percentile for weight and 15th percentile for height compared with normal infants of that age, although the mother reports that the child was of normal size and weight at birth. Most importantly you notice that the child has cataract bilaterally. Analysis of a urine specimen confirms your diagnosis. You recommend:
