Please read the following article prior to engaging in this activity: Woods, A., Jones, N., Alderson-Day, B., Callard, F., Fernyhough, C. (2015), Experiences of hearing voices: analysis of a novel phenomenological survey. The Lancet. (2)

The purpose of this activity is to give you the opportunity to experience what a patient a person with schizophrenia experiences while hearing voices. Engage in at least two separate activities such as reading, watching television, or playing a video game etc....

Based on your experience of the activities while hearing voices, please answer the following questions.

1. In a page, how did this experience make you feel? Identify AND describe some of the emotions that arose during this experience.

2. In a page, discuss the activities you engaged in and describe what it was like to work though these things while hearing voices. Was it difficult? Did you find the voices distracting? Which activities were easier or harder? And if so, why?

3. In a page, discuss any experience you may have working or interacting with individuals who hear voices. If you don't have any experience, how have you seen these individuals portrayed in TV and film?

4. In a page, how might stigma and bias towards individuals experiencing auditory hallucinations impact the care you provide?

5. In a page, how will your patient interaction change as a result of this experience?
