Change management
Change is inevitable. Whether that change is driven by governmental regulations, new technologies, shifts in economic trends or internal culture, something will always require an organisation to adapt in some manner. Nevertheless, while incorporating these changes can be for the better, the challenges of facilitating them are numerous. Employees may need to develop new skills; conflict between offices may arise; some employees may see changes as a hindrance to their performance; the list goes on. Moreover, even the smallest changes can have far-reaching effects throughout an organisation, meaning that an aptitude for change management is paramount.
As with other skills, a means of developing this change management aptitude is by analysing the effects of changes organisations made in the past. Why were the changes incorporated? How were they managed? For this Assignment, look back at an organisational change, from your own career, with which you are familiar. What were the external and internal forces that drove that change? How did organisation leaders help facilitate change within the organisation?
To complete this Assignment:
Submit a paper in which you analyse an organisational change from your own experience (or at least a change you are familiar with). Provide a description of this organisational change and analyse the external and internal forces that drove said change. Also, explain how the organisation's leadership helped facilitate that change. Then, evaluate how well the leadership executed that facilitation and explain what you would do differently, if anything, and why. Fully state and justify any choices, assumptions or claims that you make using the suggested Learning Resources for this week and/or your own research.
For all Assignments:
Your document should have 750-1,000 words (not including the list of works cited), but it is the quality of the answer that matters, not the number of words. Cite and reference all sources use the Harvard Liverpool Referencing System.
