Assessment Task 01 - Case Study

The following task must be demonstrated in a workplace or conditions that are safe and replicate the workplace. Noise levels, production flow, interruptions and time variances must be typical of those experienced in the general information and communications technology (ICT) industry, and include access to:
• A site where ICT needs and strategic directions of the enterprise may be coordinated.
• Detailed information relating to a business strategic plan.
• Information on a range of ICT business solutions.
For this task you are to complete the following steps to match ICT needs with the strategic direction of an enterprise.

Perform the following steps to evaluate the current business strategy:
Q1. Analyse the current strategic plan and objectives of the organisation comparing with the industry environment. Document your findings.
Q2. What types are ICT systems and practices are currently in use?
Q3. Monitor the resource use and effectiveness of the technology that is in place in the enterprise.
Q4. Determine the possible ICT gaps and improvement opportunities by comparing the analysed information, that is related to the current ICT systems in practice and the proposed changes to be in line with the strategic plan.
Q5. Report to the appropriate person, information regarding the ICT gap, opportunities to improve the systems and proposed changes.
Evaluate the effect of changes by completing the following steps:
Q6. Provide explanation how proposed changes in ICT systems may help to meet strategic objectives of the organisation including a practical example.
Q7. Determine the challenges on implementation of the proposed changes to the ICT systems and products.
Q8. Out of the several proposed changes, how would you prioritize them in terms of optimizing opportunities.
Q9. Accurately document your findings and forward them to the appropriate person for feedback.
Perform the following steps to develop and document an action plan:
Q10. Work on the action plans to implement the proposed changes, ensuring to do so in accordance with the organisational policy and procedures. Consider the prioritized work schedule prepared previously in evaluation phase.
Q11. Define and document the details of the plans for the implementation, standards and targets including timelines.
Q12. Forward the developed documentation to the appropriate person for feedback and approval.
After you have successfully completed the above steps, match ICT needs with the strategic direction of an enterprise, you will need to sit down with your assessor, discuss on the following items and provide summary in the written form.
