Assessment - Case Study
A cross-cultural clash
Jane Wilson, the recently appointed New York based global Marketing Director of Sunshine 100, an Australian based company specialising in responsible foods, sits in her hotel room in Mexico City, head bowed, wondering what has gone wrong with her visit. Three days into her trip and due to fly back to New York tomorrow morning, she feels she is no closer to ‘closing' the deal than when she arrived. She is agonising whether to contact her boss, Paul Morgan, and ask to stay a few days longer in the hope of ‘rescuing' the situation or board her plane at 9.00am. Will it make any difference to the negotiations if she stays or if she goes?
