Case study

30-year-old male. Background- an unhappy childhood with a controlling, authoritarian mother, an absent father. Never felt loved and was always insecure about himself. Recent history- marriage breakup 12 months ago. Wife claimed he was too possessive and jealous, with no reason. He had a brief relationship recently but was having trouble functioning sexually, and so did not continue with this relationship. Has also recently lost his job and is now worried about paying the rent and meeting his financial commitments. Presenting issues- potential homelessness, very depressed and lacking in self-esteem. Would like a partner/relationship.
