Learning Outcome 1: Examine and design contemporary Information Systems applications and methodologies.

Assessment Description
In this project, you will work in groups. These will be formed from Week Two's class onward: therefore, it is vital that you attend this class.
Class-time will be available for groups to undertake some tutor-facilitated work on this project: refer to the Weekly Workshop Schedule in the Unit Outline for details. Beyond this, it is expected that groups work cohesively, constructively and extensively in their own time. A Group Charter will be issued for all members to agree, sign and work with.

Process, Content and Structure:
Students will be given a case study based on real-world business dilemmas and scenarios.
The project will require students to apply critical thinking skills to analyse the problems and make recommended business decisions.
The structure of the project is a 3000-word report, the contents of which are detailed below. It is the report that requires submitting as the finished piece of work. It is the report that will be marked. Ad hoc work in whatever form will not be marked if submitted.
The wordcount is 3000 words. This is subject to plus or minus 10%. The wordcount does not include the executive summary, the table of contents, the list of references or any appendices. However, please note that appendices should be used for supplementary information only: they will NOT to considered for marking.

Research expectation:
The submission needs to be supported with information by credible sources.
Credible sources should be varied and include, but not limited to, the Textbook, Government reports, Industry reports, Newspaper articles, Books, and Journal articles.
Write a report containing comparative analysis of information systems used by organizations to gain competitive advantage. Your analysis should include organizations from 4 different industries and provide insight on how information systems used by organizations from different industries vary from each other.
The final submission should include the following:
A title page with information on group members, course, and assignment
A table of contents
A table of figures/graphs/illustrations etc (if required)
An Executive Summary concisely explaining the aims, objectives and content of the report between
250 - 300 words
The introduction to the overall report
Main body of the report detailing concepts and ideas. This will contain material summarised from the articles you have read related to your topic with proper in-text references. The discussion in the main body can be organized in sections and subsections.
A conclusion to the overall report
A full reference list in APA style.
