Taking a stand on an issue is an important part of writing persuasively. For this assessment, write a 500-600word (2-3 pages double-spaced) essay that states your position on an issue of your choice. Refer to thehandout titled "Topics for Research Paper: Creating a Visual Argument" given at the end of the studyguide, to view the list of topics. You may choose to work on a topic given in this handout or you may workon a different topic. With your instructor's approval, you may select your own topic.
