You have an idea to improve patient care that you would like upper management to support and fund. What type of communication tool would you use to present your idea and why?

My initial communication would start with a general meeting of involved parties and upper management, and deliver my idea to improve patient care through oral and visual means. I would present and support my idea using an attractive and eye-catching power point presentation, along with verbal emphasis.

I would communicate effectively this way to build awareness about the need for the improvement and also the benefits this new idea would bring. By using a power point presentation, it creates a visual message which sometimes is more suitable to catch and keep the interest of your audience (Theriault, 2013).

After the presentation is through, allow time for questions and feedback. A meeting can be beneficial and effective if well prepared, passionate, dynamic, and has focused engagement (Huber, 2014, p. 136).
