Background:
An experiment was performed using HCl. We wrote down the molarity on the bottle and then used a pH meter to find the pH. From the pH we then calculated the [H+] (hydrogen ion concentration) from the pH that we measured.

the question is:
How does the nominal concentration of HCl compare with the molar concentration of H+, and are they supposed to be the same?
