Over the last few weeks we have explored social work ideals and practices that might seem to be at cross purposes. The asset-based community development ideas and practice framework, while consistent with social work values, are contrary to many social service delivery structures and macro practices. The concrete path of building support and assessing opposition laid out in the textbook may feel very different to your own "real life" experiences with building allies.
