Numerous times, the communication that has to go out is not good news, but rather bad news. We look crisis situations all the time in businesses, and the communication about those crises must be done very cautiously and by considering the intended audience.

Select a company that went through a crisis in the past five years. Based on your reading and research, complete the subsequent tasks:

• Show how they communicated their crisis situation to the public. Show what form of communication (written or verbal) did they use? Who was their intended audience?

• Explain whether the company was effective in communicating their crisis while maintaining or improving their image. Explain whether there were other ways in which they could have communicated better with the audience.

• Give an analysis of the communication strategy and what you would have done another way had you been in charge of the communication.
