Please help - An aircraft manufacturing company is designing a new passenger seat.

An aircraft manufacturing company is designing a new passenger seat. Currently three models have been produced. The company wishes to know which is the best model to adopt for the aircraft based on the following variables:

  • safety
  • comfort
  • durability
  • life-cycle cost

The company wishes to use "hard" data from tests and "soft" data from surveys.

1. A wear test was conducted on samples of fabric used to cover the model seats in order to simulate passengers sitting down, getting up and sliding around. For model A, 30 samples were tested. The wear out times in hours were:

3.1, 3.7, 3.2, 4.0, 3.1, 4.1, 3.7, 3.8, 3.7, 3.4, 3.5, 3.7, 3.9, 3.2, 3.7, 3.6, 3.8, 3.5, 3.7, 3.6, 4.1, 3.3, 3.2, 3.8, 3.8, 3.5, 3.8, 4.0, 3.9, 3.8
