The following scenario applies to the remaining exercises. In given Exercise, we presented a two-way table of counts for a random sample of people who had ever been married, demonstrating the proportions who smoked and who had ever been divorced. The numbers are shown again in the following table.

Because this survey was based on a random sample in the United States in the early 1990s, the data should be representative of the adult population who had ever been married at that time. Answer these questions for a randomly selected member of that population.
