1. Consider an AHP problem with three alternatives which are evaluated based on four attributes. Also consider that one of the attributes is savings, for which you have hard, quantifiable numbers (i.e. dollar amount saved). How would you proceed to calculate the principal vector/priority weight?
A) Translate the dollar values into a preference matrix, normalize the preference matrix, and take the average of each row; the result is your principal vector
B) For each of the three alternatives, take the savings value of each of them, and divide each by the sum of all savings values; this will give you the principal vector right away
C) Take the value for the best alternative (i.e. the highest savings value), and for each alternative, divide this value by the savings value for the respective alternative; normalize the vector, which then yields the principal vector
D) It is not possible to calculate a principal vector with the information available.
2. This week you will be researching careers more thoroughly. Share two careers that you are most interested in and explain why you are considering these. What influenced you to choose these fields? Perhaps an experience or a person? What information do you hope to find in your exploration? Has to be business degree related.
