1. EXECUTIVE SUMMARY
This project will be the Pilot Phase of Alpha Team EtR Reliance software implementation initiative at ABC manufacturing, following on from the Proof of Concept that was completed earlier this year. The proof of concept was picked up based on an initiative undertaken by our cross function quality group.
The key takeaways from the EtR project are as follows:
• There is extreme need to add new quality management software to our current suite of collaboration systems at ABC manufacturing. Several different cases exist where quality management software dashboards are needed.
• ABC Manufacturing existing systems such as team center are ineffective and not sufficient for day to day management of our quality systems. In particular, the various facilities are still using Excel and Access data bases to manage their day to day activities.
• Giving people minimum tools for managing manufacturing needs does not result in an effective business solution. There needs to be dedicated, ongoing means and a focused user training effort, along with technical improvements to the quality management systems, in order for ABC to see a return on any investment in improving our systems.
• Improving our ability to collect and recall data are a critical in communicating issues with our facilities and to our customers when the need arises during product escapes or recalls.
