Allen, bragging about this new gig, told Bruce that he was hired by Wal-Mart to buy the lot. With this information, Bruce went and told Paul that Allen had given him (Bruce) authority to buy the property on behalf of Wal-Mart. Paul charged Bruce $30,000 and they signed the required contract with Bruce signing "as agent of Wal-Mart." Bruce then went and told Wal-Mart that he had purchased the property on Wal-Mart's behalf.
