A manager suspends an employee without pay for a week once they learn that the employee recently got a DUI while driving a company vehicle and mandates that the employee attend Alcoholics Anonymous or some equivalent treatment program. What message is this likely to send to other employees? A DUI is a serious infraction and is treated seriously by this company. Profits are not a top priority at this company. The company is watching my every move even outside of work. The manager in question is not an ethical leader, because ethical leaders wouldn't harshly discipline an employe.
