Referring to Reframing Organizations by Bolman and Deal as well as Who Says Elephants Can't Dance? by Lou Gerstner answering the following questions:

1. Name 3 major structural problems facing Lou Gerstner when he started at IBM. (See Part II of Reframing Organizations for the issues that are structural problems. I only want structural problems. (“Culture”—while a major problem for Gerstner—is not a structural problem.)

2. Use agency theory (Part II) as a diagnostic tool to explain Gerstner's problems that you identified in #1.
