Theatre X is playing 3 films in the afternoon and 2 films in the evening, while theatre Y is playing 4 films in the afternoon and 3 in the evening. How many ways are there for a person to select one film to see at each theatre so that one is an afternoon film and one is an evening film.

The answer is 18 but how do you get it?
