The Future of Health Care in the United States

Introduction

Suppose that, in the following three years, every American has concluded that the country has to implement universal health care. The President has designated you to suggest the most efficient route to reach your destination. After studying the NHS (England), two NHIs (France and Canada), and the existing US healthcare system, you have to select which of these four options is the best fit for the US. (Acknowledge that to attain universal coverage, you will need to make some adjustments to the current US system.)

More research into the healthcare systems of England, France, Canada, and the United States will undoubtedly be required for more detailed and improved input.

The Task

(A) Among the four options for the US healthcare system, select one and explain why you believe it to be the best fit for the country. List the primary benefits of making your decision and go over a few of the potential drawbacks as well.

(B) Explain how your choice will 1) affect hospital and doctor payments, 2) affect payers (insurance companies, employers, and present government insurance programs), and 3) change the way patients interact with the health care system. Nobody disputes the benefits of universal coverage, so don't waste your time defending it. Instead, go into more depth about how your approach would work and benefit America and its citizens.

Support your paper with at least ten (10) references. However, you do not need references for each point you make, but at least five (5) of your references must be from sources in the literature that you have researched.
