Problem 1 - Jana heard that the use of social media (e.g. Facebook) during instruction would enhance the learning achievement of students. To test this idea, Jana conducted a study to investigate the effect of a Facebook-based instructional approach on preservice teachers' learning achievement. A pre-test post-test quasi-experimental design with non-equivalent control group (CG) was employed. Problem 2 - Joseph is interested in learning more about the famous cruise ship, Titanic, that was sunk in 1912. Specifically, his brain had a few questions, i.e., whether any association existed between the class of the ship people travelled in and their survival and whether any significant differences exist in survival (death or alive) and the class of the ship people travelled in? Joseph reached out to original investigators, who investigated the Titanic ship accident. From investigators, Joseph found that there were 1,309 passengers on the ship. Joseph collected information from investigators what were the different classes (1st, 2nd, or 3rd) people travelled in and which people died, and which survived the accident. Problem 3 - Israa read about how a mother's pre-pregnancy weight can affect a baby's birthweight. She conducted a pilot study to test the assertation about the relationship between a mother's pre-pregnancy weight and baby's birthweight and how mother's pre-pregnancy weight predicts baby's birthweight. She collected mother's pre-pregnancy weight and baby's birthweight data from 42 mothers and their new born babies, respectively. Conduct the appropriate statistical test at α = .05 using SPSS to test Israa's assertion described above.
