Question 1 - Recently, Andrew decided to enjoy his weekend by visiting Acme Amusement Park. Andrew paid the entrance fee and he was given a ticket before he was allowed access into the amusement park. Andrew kept his wallet and mobile phone in the locker provided before he proceeded with the roller coaster ride. As he was enjoying himself on the roller coaster ride, a mishap occurred, causing Andrew to fall and injure his knee. To his further dismay, Andrew was shocked that his wallet and mobile phone have gone missing from the locker. Andrew now seeks compensation from Acme Amusement Park, but the company rejected his claims, relying on a notice displayed inside the amusement park stating that 'Visitors of the amusement park proceed at their own risk', and maintains that the amusement park is not liable for any loss sustained by its visitors.
Based on the situation above, advise whether the amusement park would be liable under civil law, criminal law, or both; advise whether Andrew could successfully claim against the amusement park under the law of contract.
