Question

Sam is currently employed at ABC Holding. He is the HR officer and interacts with many internal and external stakeholders such as trade unions, employees and educational centres. Sam's manager David, has just completed his half yearly performance evaluation. His findings were negative and Sam seems to disagree as he has managed to exceed his external stakeholders' expectations. David conducts performance evaluation based on the immediate manager's approach.

Advise David and Sam on how they can benefit by involving someone else besides the immediate supervisor in evaluating performance? Consider the advantages and disadvantages of input from more than one source in performance evaluation.
