In 2019, Advertising Standards Authority of the UK (UK's equivalent to Ad Standards of Canada) introduced new rules that ban the depiction of men and women engaged in gender-stereotypical activities to help stop "limiting how people see themselves and how others see them and the life decisions they take".  They did this because of an "evidence-based case for stronger regulation of ads that feature stereotypical gender roles or characteristics which might be harmful to people". 

Since the implementation of these new rules, 2 TV ads have been banned on the grounds that they portray harmful stereotypical gender roles:
