Suppose an investigator was interested in estimating the odds ratio of having a low weight baby comparing 35 year old mothers to 25 year old mother. Two approaches might be used: (i) t a logistic regression model using data from all 189 mothers and reporting on the odds ratio for a 10 year age dierence; (ii) using only the data from the 15 mothers who were 25 years of age and the 2 mothers who were 35 years of age.
